The Mamaroo has a few more features than the Rockaroo. It moves both horizontally and vertically, along with more power settings and a variety of baby white noise. We bought the Mamaroo a couple month before our first child was born. He used it, but I'm not sure how important all the extra features were to him. I'd probably stick to something cheaper if I had to do it all over again. And each child reacts differently, so these extra settings might be more useful to others.

Our daughter didn't react any differently with any of the noise programs or different motion schemes, and she used this for maybe 2 weeks before clearly preferring a $25 no-frills rocker, but we have friends who love their Mamaroo. We also found that the plush "arm" is not at all toddler proof - a cousin pulled down on it a few times and the plastic mounting base deformed so the arm ended up basically touching the baby in the Mamaroo. Nothing is indestructible but for the price I expected a little more thoughtful construction/design. Just our experience, of course.

Personally I wouldn't buy one again as even if your child likes the variety of motion programs I'm not convinced they are really 4-6x superior to a single-axis rocker for purposes of comforting baby. That said, I totally agree that it seems every child is different when it comes to rocking preferences. Rep OP - This is a good price if you are in the market and can find one in stock.

This is a luxury item. Like their origami stroller. You can just hold the baby too, for free.

My 1 month old likes to be held and so far she does not like any crib for flat-surface sleeping products we bought. We got a rocking chair under $100 as gift and it's her fav to sleep in that I thought to buy a 2nd one (we move it between 2 rooms in the house and pack it to go to grandparents although there's a top-of-line Pack-n-Go there she doesn't use.

The 50% off sale makes Rockaroo about the same price as the rocking chair we got as gift and I need a 2nd one to keep at home so I'm hoping the Rockaroo w/ infant insert will work just as well if not better than the cheap rocking chair. Yes, I would not pay full price for any 4Moms products as they just arent worth the premium from reviews and feedback from other parents. THat said, if I didn't buy a Chicco travel system, I wanted to splurge on that Oragami stroller on sale... Stick Out Tongue

Don't get this. Our son never used it. Waste of money. You will end up regretting and reselling on Craigslist. Trust.

Different kids react to it differently. Our daughter didnt like it at all. Our friends kid instantly fell asleep in it. Not sure it's worth generalizing how all kids will receive it. I was hoping for a swing .. which was in the title. Those look pretty cool and I think kids that like movement but don't like the mama roo might like a swing more.
