If you flash with DDWRT, then yes. Though mind you that it's not that easy to flash so easily with this one.

i currently have a NETGEAR WNDR3400v2 N600... is this worth switching to? my current router doesn't have gigabit ports so transferring files wirelessly from my computer to my new NAS i only get to 2-3 MB/s... If i connected my NAS to the router through a gigabit port would my wireless transfer speeds increase? Thanks for you help.

If your NAS and other devices have Gigabit Ethernet, you will see faster speeds. On the wireless side, you probably won't see much of a difference.
