The Iris Contact Sensor allows you to monitor if something has been opened or closed. Ideal to use on doors, windows, cabinets, safes and more. The Iris Smart Hub is required to connect the contact sensor with the Iris App. - Randy71

Lowe's [lowes.com] has Iris Contact Sensor (compatible with Iris, SmartThings, etc.) on sale for $16.64, plus they seem to be running a buy-two-get-one free promotion*. Free store pick-up where available, or parcel shipping is free with (free) MyLowe's account.

* If you add two or more sensors to your cart, you should see one "free gift" sensor in your cart for every two sensors you purchase.

This sale is 33% off the regular price, or more if you buy at least two sensors. Discounted pricing runs through 6/26/2017, or while supplies last. You may also be able to stack one or more discounts/coupons (YMMV).

Although these sensors are made for use with the Lowe's Iris platform, they use the Zigbee wireless protocol, and they should be compatible with most any Zigbee-compatible hub. I have been using several of them for over a year with SmartThings, and they have worked quite well for me.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I put 2 of these in my cart, and see the free one when I view my cart but when I try to choose Store Pickup for the free one, the other two disappear from my cart. Anyone else having issues with this?

Does your store have at least 3 in stock? I made sure mine had more and was able to checkout with the 2 + 1.

These work well with smartthings once you setup the custom device handler. They are somewhat large, but I like them because they're not as sensitive as others I have. You can leave some gap between them before it triggers as being open. Works great on the fridge door. They are a little funky when replacing the battery, I think the magnet has to be separated when you put the new battery in otherwise the LED light will blink non-stop and kill the battery in a week.

Recent reviews on these sensors are not too great. I like the idea of recessed sensors (like https://www.amazon.com/Aeotec-Aeo...B0151Z49BO), but waiting for their prices to drop to pull the trigger.

I have been using these with ST for a year, still on original batteries. They do their job well.

They also have the motion sensor 33% off

By my count, you can get 6 of these for $51.xx if you find and use a $15 off $50 coupon. That's incredibly slick for $8.xx each.

Can these be used with third party security services like ADT or is it for us to be able to monitor through the phone? Thank you

I had the same issue and changed stores. Could be due to inventory.

Anyone using the sensors with an Alarm monitoring company? Smartthings has no default security company for monitoring. Trying to think of a reason to use these instead of sticking to my GE monitored security system (Simon XT)

Does anyone know if the contact sensors have internal wire terminals?

I changed stores and was able to check out successfully. It's odd since they showed 13 in stock, but I'm just glad to get them from somewhere.

I just got the Visonic one for $10 shipped. If you don't need temperature sensing, the Xiaomi one is less than $7. I got both working with ST.
