Cricket Wireless is having (online) the IPhone SE 64 GB (all colors) for $229 and the IPhone SE 16 GB for $169! Both for upgrades and new account/lines.
New lines, if porting in, can also avail the $50 port in credit, as well as $25 referral credit for both parties.

https://www.cricketwireless.com/c...martphones

Of course the SE is not for everyone; but if it is, now would be the time to get the other member in the family ported over to Cricket with up to $100 off ($50 + $25x2) of $169 IPhone SE 16 GB making it $69! (assuming you pay both the bills and hence get both the referral credits).

Note: something new seems to be coming on June 26, so plans/offers may change soon - for better or for worse.

$50 Credit for switching is shown on this page (see attachment) - note $25 fee is for *in store* no activation fee for online orders:
https://www.cricketwireless.com/c...martphones -- Still Valid

$25 Referral Credit for both is here:
https://www.cricketwireless.com/rewards

Unlock Policy:
If you are on the highest plan ($60) its immediate, processing takes a couple of days. (can change plan after unlock). If not, about 7 months after you start using the phone (not just service).

Other Cricket Service Details:
* Runs on AT&T Network. Max speed is throttled to 8 MBPS (which is decent enough to download videos)
* Monthly rate includes all taxes
* Monthly rate for plans $40 and above gets a $5 discount if you allow autopay with a credit card - card will not be charged, but you still get autopay discount if you prepay by any other way
* Prepaid recharge cards (or e-Cards) from BestBuy/Target often provide another 10% discount

Decent if looking to upgrade, great if you're porting in. If I wasn't currently a member on an SE I would probably buy one.

Where do you see $50 port in credit and 25 referral?

Cricket people spend so much time analyzing referral credits that they could have gone out and made some money, I know, crazy!

Can I as a Cricket customer just buy the iPhone SE 64GB? And is this the best offer for iPhone SE at the moment?

Need to buy your plan in advance and buy the phone separately in order to do it.

Would their phones work with AT&T out the box or have to be unlocked first?

Phones locked to ATT can work on Cricket but phones locked to Cricket won't work on ATT unless it's been unlocked.

He was using creative math because you get a $25 bill credit on your next service billing for a referral. Yet the other person is not going to give you nor could Cricket transfer it to the same account. If he wanted to go one more step he could have said go to Best Buy and buy a $70 Cricket gift card for $60 to get another $10 off.
