I have been testing one for few month. Using it now, as I am typing this.

about 45$, 6 month expected service life. This thing looks beautiful - Very tempting as we use a Rabbit Air BIOGS right now which has served us for over 6 years.

You get to pick from a few free items when you checkout - use the code AUDIOGCOS for another 8%, but it only saves you about fifty cents.

Not a clue about air purifiers. So what are the things that I need to look for in a general air purifier?

Also how does this one compare to the others around this price range?

My favorite purifier!
I put one for each room. I can monitor and control all the purifiers on my smartphone.
The lifetime depends on the level of air pollution.
6 month is in China. I think 1 year is okay in the state.
The cost of the filter is cheaper than the other purifiers'.
Two type of filters, standard and advanced.

Looks great, may be in for one. Do you guys know if we need to buy a separate USA power cord / adapter to use this?

Looks a bit like the Coway AirMega purifier.

Before purchasing, be sure you are looking for mostly mechanical filtration. This will do little, if any, odor and chemical gas filtering. If you are mostly looking for that type of filtration, look at the carbon canister filters made for growing certain illegal herbs for the best bang for your buck. I am running a canister with 4x's the carbon of the highest rated chemical air purifier and it cost me about 1/10 the price.

I don't know if this even make sense but does this purifier use a "standard" filter? What happens if Xiaomi exits this market and you can't get the filters anymore? I don't want to be stuck with a useless purifier.
