Freedompop SIM Only Promo (99c + FREE shipping)

The title says it all. Freedompop is offering its SIM card for $0.99. The page is a little misleading. It makes it look like the sim is free, but when you proceed, it shows $0.99 for the sim card. Oh well, still pretty cheap.

FYI, after I placed my order, I got an offer for a 2nd sim card for a cent. Both are registered to my new freedompop account now. You can switch among different sim cards by clicking on your name on the top right corner of the account screen. (Took me a loooong time to figure this out.)

My experience with Freedompop is horrible, when you cancel, make sure you check the next month that they don't charge you again without your consent. I was charged 4 months in a row at $24.99 since I did not check my credit card charges (no emails/bill were sent from freedompop). They're a fraud in terms of charging you after you cancel. Search for it yourself on google

Do ALL THREE to get free service (but make sure your SIM is activated properly before downgrading):
Plan: Change to Free Basic Plan [freedompop.com]
Services: Downgrade from Premier [freedompop.com]
Confirm: Downgrade AGAIN [freedompop.com]
Important Note: Not following the confirm step can lead to a $7.99 charge. There is a web glitch that makes it sort of difficult to fully remove the Premier feature. See matt314159's post here for additional instructions on how to ensure it's really gone

I wish they would just up the free plan to 1GB data.

That would be nice, although with freedompop friends, we get about that much.

No, how does this crap get spread so god damned often? You pay the $5 to top off your account to turn off auto top up.

As for the title the OP was too lazy to continue to the checkout. It's still $0.99 for the SIM card.

Make sure you people downgrade the premium service trial twice to full disable it.

The plan trial only needs to be downgraded once.

false. It does not cost anything to downgrade. And it isn't necessary to turn off auto-top ups, just stay 100mb under the data allotment.

you pay for one service, and then find a way to disable it, meanwhile Freedom will make up some other reason to charge you anywhere from $2-$5
