Home Depot has Formula Shell motor oil 5 qt jug on sale for $9.98

Remember use only what oil weight your vehicle asks for (why?, because engineers spent thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars to design your engine to run with that oil - that simple) (but my engine has high miles, I don't care use what your car asks for)

Not a blow your pants off price but hey no rebates and cheaper than Walmart brand. Also this is Dino oil (non synthetic) but synthetic isn't what it used to be (nowadays it's derived from Dino oil).

Also first post. Please excuse the mess.

You act like that's cheap. Sure it's it's an oil pan/plug issue, but there are lots of gaskets that require 6+ hours of work and lots of parts. Especially on a car you're only going to keep for another year or two, it's simply easier putting in an extra quart every other month than putting in the money or effort to fix a small leak.

I'm not saying that the constant dripping of oil isn't harmful to both roads and the environment, but you argued the cost, and for slow leaks it's usually cheaper to just buy an extra quart every two months than fix the issue, especially if you're not skilled under the hood.

Full synthetic for ~$10/gallon? Close to it...

E.g. Mobil 1 from WalMart with a $12 Mobil 1 rebate brings it to around $12. Limit 2 rebates per household...

Thanks! Ordered two. My car leaks oil so I dont really care if its synthetic or not. Plus I hate mail in rebates so this is great

Not full synthetic...no thanks
Have we seen full synth for $10 for five quarts? This is a nice cheap dyno that will work well in many cars, I use it in my small engine equipment.

I have approx 6 cans of 5Q full synth oil (0W-20) sitting in my attic, each one was $11 after MIR!

Instead of wasting money on oil...just fix the leak...smh
Its in the cam shaft seals. Its not worth the time or effort of taking everything off.
