I've had this monitor for about a month, with the latest software I haven't had any issue with freesync on ultimate engine (there are two settings for freesync on this monitor, and ultimate engine was where people have the most issue with).

This monitor is extremely bright, I had to adjust down to 25% brightness for my eyes. Also when I first got the monitor, on occasion the sound wouldn't work until I turn off and turn on the monitor, I contacted Samsung and they asked me to hard reset the monitor, although I haven't had any issue since then, I'm not sure that really fixed it.

I suspect most of the issues were due to DisplayPort connection, My Surface had similar issues with DisplayPort before and it took MS awhile to fix it through software updates.

Good to know you can get 34'' curved 1440P with 100 Hz and FreeSync monitor at $700 ish price.
Was considering the ASUS one but this is much cheaper. Don't know if G-Sync vs FreeSync will make a big difference though.

Quantum Dot VA vs. IPS panel is a big difference.
This monitor has the higher radius (1500R), so it is more comparable to the 3417 than the 3415.
I have heard at the extreme ends of the curvature colors tend to look a bit washed in the Samsung, as the VA cannot compare with IPS when it comes to viewing angles.

Personally I am still waiting for the 3417 to come to a price in the mid 500s to justify the buy. But I may be waiting for long time nod
