Too bad it's not the A9's! I don't think the upgrade from my old Monitor 70's to the A7's would be worth it.

This is really, really good deal. These speakers are gorgeous, and large. They are hard to drive though. Most people recommend using separate power amps for these to really open up to their full potential.

This is the cheapest they have ever been by a large margin. They were $500 each yesterday, I happened to put them in a shopping cart and got the message today that they dropped in price. I was going to post them but OP beat me to it!

I looked back at slickdeals, and most are $350 each. Once, it was $300 each.
This is $70 off that price. The a7 is cheaper than the center channel csi a6 that is currently not really on sale and selling for $380.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000V2U...tzbBANDGD7

The center channel page on Amazon is a MUCH better representation of the actually "Cherry" color than the rti a7 page. I don't know why it looks so light and orange, but that is not really the color.

The RTI A3 on amazon looks a little too dark: https://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Bookshelf-Speakers-Cherry/dp/B000V2N310/ref=pd_sim_23_3?_encoding=... [amazon.com]

These Polks are all the same "Cherry" color with MDF wrapped real wood veneer. I have some older RT speakers from the RTXXXi line, and the cherry wood cabs of the RTi A line is just so much nicer. This is probably one of the nicest looking good quality speakers ever sold at $230 each. They are being cleared out, polk is making big line up changes this year. The cheaper, easier to drive S series are a little to modern for my taste. The T series just looks cheap.

You absolutely should have a subwoofer to use with the rti a7. The a7 gets low, but not that low. A sub will help reduce the load on your amp (Especially if you have under 100 watts at 8ohm with all channels driven) when crossed over at 80htz. I would recommend monoprice if you are looking for something cheap. It is not cherry, it is black, but the 12 inch 150watt ($144 shipped at monoprice or amazon) is considered the hands down best bang for your buck under $300 by thewirecutter.com. I personally have an HSU sub, but then you are looking at $500+ subs. I love Polk, but their subs are sub-par and a bad value.

Goodluck to all who get in on this. It really is an awesome deal. If I had the space for an acoustically transparent screen I would buy one just to use as a center channel. The Rti A7 is currently $150 cheaper than the Csi a6!

Sexy. I decommissioned old (blown) Advent tower speakers for Monitor 40 bookshelf speakers to have a whole Polk system with center, sub, surrounds etc. I like it.... but I KNOW I would like this more. I'm a little underwhelmed by the PS10 sub, I'd rather ditch it and go back to big main speakers. But these will overpower my CS10 center, so then I'd have to get a matching center like the A6 which is $300... and presto I just spent $800 without trying... oh then I'd new surrounds... shit, call it a grand.

I had a pair of 7s before going to the RTi12s (the sister to the RTiA9s which are the step up from the 7s).

The 7s are a noticeable upgrade over the 70s. And though mine were in black (as opposed to cherry), they are beautiful speakers.

Same price at Newegg with coupon code 0622SAC62 and no sales tax for most. One thing I have realize is that if amazon has a sale it is because another major retailer has it for that price at first.

Same here. I noticed the same thing also. Seems like they monitor competitor prices and match them. Its good for us when retailers compete.

What did you run your 7s with? One of the nice things about the 70s when I had those was I could run them off just my receiver without worrying about clipping.

Newegg will only allow me to buy 1 speaker. Anyone else run into this issue?
