Not sure if this is the best place to post this.
I was poking around, checking my rewards points and items to obtain with that rewards money.

I was logged in under my rewards profile.
I put something into my cart for 39.99 and received this message

"FREE shipping when you spend $49.99 - $10.00 to go!"

I called and the people are the line were dense to the fact that it was happening already. They eventually told me that could/would fix it if I ordered something, But it seems someone pressed the button a week early. Two people told me new rules are rolling out on July 1st.

Just a heads up that things are changing. Not sure of all changes as it seems this was not supposed to happen today, but it did.

"Free next-day delivery* is available for:

Eligible orders of $25 or more placed by Business Rewards Plus members
Eligible orders of $49.99 or more
Orders placed on the in-store kiosk
Orders that include ink, toner and/or case paper
Orders placed through our Auto Restock program (excludes oversize items)
You can also have your order delivered to one of our retail stores for no charge.

*Free next-day delivery is available on eligible items only; orders must be placed by 5pm local time, Excludes weekends and holidays.

Staples.com orders under $49.95 will be charged a $9.95 delivery fee.

However, free delivery and next-day delivery is not available for orders placed on documents.staples.com, staplespromotionalproducts.com, design.staples.com, 3dservices.staples.com, directmail.staples.com, holidaycards.staples.com, and third party websites linked to staples.com.

Orders are subject to credit approval and product availability.

Was this answer helpful? Yes (93%)No (7%)"

But this bottom of the page states still this

"
Free Shipping Every Day*
For Staples Rewards® members on orders over $14.99. Excludes Oversize items."

I guess for every store now norm outside of holidays is come to store for pickup and grab a few more useless things.

Footfall is a retail term and it's one of those important marketing statistics.

Is this the free shipping through Shoprunner? Or just Staples Rewards shipping? I placed an order two days ago and got free Shoprunner shipping on a $15 order.

I believe this just happened this morning, but not sure.
They told me on the phone that this new policy was not supposed to in effect till July 1st.
They told me that could fix and order if I was placing an order today.
STaples seemed unaware that this had happened on their site.
They often roll out things on Sundays, not sure why they pick a Sunday to do so, but thing often change for staples on Sundays examples, coupons, price mistakes, glitches.

Just thought people should be aware of the change for many already and the coming changes (not sure of all) on July 1st.
Order before July 1st and have order fixed if below 49.99 but above 14.99

Amazon recently decreases the minimum for free shipping for all non-prime buyers and Staples increases it for all buyers (I remember when it was $14.99 minimum or free if you were a rewards member).

DAMNIT

Tried to place an order a couple of minutes ago that I forgot to place on Friday, could not receive the free shipping while using the $30 off on K-cups. Problem is, while I can call for the credit (states clearly $14.99 threshold) would probably end up losing the cashback.

They've removed the plus tier and rewards are only earned in-store now.

So if you purchase items online you do not earn rewards? That makes no sense!

"Starting July 1, 2017, all Staples Rewards members will enjoy free next-day delivery, up to 5% back in rewards on in-store purchases and $2 back in rewards on recycled ink and toner cartridges."

The reward program is actually much better.

Edit: They require $50 minimum, it keeps getting worse.

See the fine print:
Rewards members receive free next-day delivery on orders over $49.99

*Staples Rewards® members receive up to 5% back in rewards on purchases made in store (excludes postage, phone/gift cards). Staples Rewards are issued online monthly in increments of $5. Rewards expire the last day of the month (midnight EST) following the month in which they are issued and cannot be redeemed after the expiration date. Monthly balances of less than $5 will roll over through the end of the following calendar quarter. Unissued Rewards will expire at the end of the following calendar quarter unless a Qualifying Purchase is made during that rollover period. Rewards may be redeemed at any Staples store, on staples.com or by phone at 800-333-3330 by the expiration date printed on the reward. Rewards are not redeemable for cash. Staples is not liable for unclaimed or expired rewards. Rewards members receive free next-day delivery on orders over $49.99 placed by 5pm local time on staples.com or by phone at 800-333-3330 for which a membership account is identified, excluding weekends and holidays, oversize items, orders made at documents.staples.com, print.staples.com, staplespromotionalproducts.com, create.staples.com, design.staples.com and third party websites linked to staples.com. Standard Staples delivery policies apply. All Staples Rewards® members are eligible for ink and toner recycling rewards if the member has spent at least $30 in ink and/or toner purchases at Staples over the previous 180 days. Ink and/or toner purchases made on the date of recycling are calculated toward minimum purchase requirement. Minimum purchase requirement is net of coupons, taxes, and shipping charges. Ink resellers and remanufacturers are strictly prohibited from earning ink recycling rewards. Limit of number of cartridges recycled each month varies by member tier. Limit one rewards account per person or at any email address. The sale, barter or transfer of Staples Rewards, except by Staples, is expressly prohibited. Abuse of the rewards program may result in legal action, cancellation of the member's rewards account, exclusion from the program, forfeiture of all rewards accrued, and liability for past rewards redeemed. Staples reserves the right to change the Rewards program at any time without notice. Staples Rewards membership is FREE. For full program details, visit staples.com/rewards. For more information regarding the Staples More Account®, visit staples.com/credit. For more information regarding Staples Business Membership Programs visit, staples.com.

Anyone know if using rewards will count toward the $49.99 or does it have to be $49.99 charged?

I wonder if Shoprunner will continue to be $14.99. Probably not.

............Any help on the meaning of that last sentence. What are tiers as they pertain to number of cartridges per month? We've been 10 per month for years. We went to the link they stated in their e-mail today >> For full program details, visit staples.com/rewards. << and we do not see tiers related to ink recycling. Thanks.
