The code is good for 10% off the highest priced item in the cart. I used it for the Vacmaster VP215 chamber vacuum sealer, which I've never seen new for under $670. Similar options are the VP112S for $441, and the VP120 for $531.

Great tool for purchasing food in bulk, food preservation in general, sealing liquids, sealed brining with a lower risk of cross-contamination, sous vide cooking, and neat stuff like vacuum compression of fruits and quick pickling.

When comparing to an edge-sealer like the Food Saver, consider the cost of the required specialized mesh bags. My math works out to roughly 40 cents for an 8x10 bag that you have to cut to length from a roll, and seal manually on both ends. Compare at roughly 4-5 cents per bag for a pre-cut 8x10 chamber bag when you buy by the case (of 1000). You can either pay up front for the expensive machine and recoup the cost with cheap bags (if you plan to use it a lot), or get a cheap machine and pay over time for expensive bags (if you won't use it that often). For me, it's much easier to justify sealing less valuable items, like the remainder of a block of cheese, if bags cost less than a nickel.

Ya... You would only have to bag 1800 items before you break even! An item every single day for 5 years!

I have the VP112 for Sous Vide and Freezing food. It's awesome, especially for liquids. Keep in mind that these take up a bunch of room. I have mine on a rolling kitchen cart.

True, if you only factor in the cost of the bags, and not the implicit cost savings of the cheap bags by making one more willing to seal less valuable items that would otherwise have been wasted. I've used 50-60 bags on various food items (some for storage, others for sous vide cooking) in the last 4 days alone--in comparison, I would have been much more judicious with my use of expensive foodsaver bags.
