Cost efficiency and energy efficiency are two different things. Electric heat is 100% efficient. It's still far more expensive than gas.

"The products are currently produced by manufacturers such as Whirlpool, GE, Panasonic, Sanyo, LG, Bosch, Electrolux, and Mabe Mexico. The brand is controlled by Sears Holdings, and owned by KCD IP, LLC, a special purpose entity created by Sears Holdings for securitization purposes."

Wow, these seem like great finds. I need a washer/dryer combo and $630 for the washer/gas dryer combo is as good as it gets. Anyone have any insight into Kenmore machines? Is Whirlpool worth a couple hundred dollars more?

Scroll down on the bundle page and click on the washer. They are individually on sale too.

In general I read somewhere that Kenmore are really just rebadged units from other manufacturers with slightly different specs or options. And more recently their applicances are made by LG.

I forgot what I was looking at but more recently read somewhere that Kenmore buys the specs from the other company and manufacturers the appliances themselves. Not sure if this is true or not.

The one thing people say about Kenmore and other Kmart/Sears brands is that the warranty may not be worth much if the parent company goes out of business.

Electric is more efficient than gas. With gas, you are sending a bunch of heat right out the vent. Same with hot water heaters.

Let the arguments begin!

Well I'm sure a lot of people including myself got no gas line so the argument is mute.
