Bare tool was front page recently for approximately $115... This is with the 80V Battery and charger for about $65 more.

100% disagree with you. I have the 40v 16" bar greenworks chainsaw and let's just say I barely touch my gas powered chainsaw anymore. I have cut down many a tree, bucked them, etc. and kept going and going and going. Add a little bar oil and go. No vibration, push button start, near immediate stop, no hearing protection needed. It is awesome. Every friend I have let try it that was a skeptic came out convinced in short order. The chains sharpen like a normal saw too.

Now if I was in the National Forest gathering firewood all day, then yeah, I might take my gas chainsaw, but I'd first use my greenworks until the batteries I have ran out.

For most people, these chainsaws are plenty for what they need.

Look at the price graph. It's been going down steadily for the past week...it's anyone's guess when it'll shoot back up though.

This seems like a pretty good deal whenever the batteries sell for $130+ by themselves.

Unless you are going to use a chainsaw indoor, I don't see the point of a battery powered chainsaw, not at the current state of battery technology.

Seems a great chainsaw for my backyard, this is my first chainsaw with battery. Totally worth that!

Edited to remove a link to someone's erroneous statement concerning 40v/80v tool compatibility. In case anyone wondered, you CANNOT physically mount older 40v batteries in 80v tools.
