Don't have Amazon Prime? Students can get a free 6-Month Amazon Prime trial with free 2-day shipping, unlimited video streaming & more. If you're not a student, there's also a free 1-Month Amazon Prime trial available.

If you are only reading 2 books/month, then it's not worth it.

1) You already get 1 kindle unlimited book a month just by having a prime membership. That's in addition to #2 below.

2) Prime comes with a baby version of kindle unlimited. It's a small subset of the books that rotates each month but you get all you can eat from that as well. It's called Prime Reading.

what stops someone from subscribing for 6 months, downloading hundreds or more kindle books, and then putting the device offline permanently so the books cannot be removed when the subscription expires? Just wondering.....

mmm considering this. I only read around 2 books per month...more if going on vacation, but I normally use overdrive and my library is super slow to add books and I seem to have gone through a lot of the decent books they have. I've been thinking about getting cards for more local libraries.

So I am guessing this offers more titles than Prime Reading. Any other benefits over Prime Reading or is that it?

you get one free? I never noticed that...where do you have the option for that? I usually shop on the web browser (safari) and then read in kindle for ios.

You have to have a Kindle or Fire to borrow a book a month for free. When you go to shop for it, it'll say "Borrow for Free" where the Kindle unlimited stuff would be.
