Wow, so you try to create your own post of combining other posts with mine having the posted the rebate on this thread almost an hour before you:

https://slickdeals.net/f/10300160-nest-thermostat-3rd-generation-stainless-or-white-at-home-depot-198-00?v=1

I now see the thumbs down.
Bro. I did a search. Nothing came up. I'll have the mods merge it. #calmdown

hi, this is actually not considered a repost. that thread is for home depot, and this one is about the rebate. there is no expectation that people will read through an entire thread to look for a deal. as mentioned in the faq in hot deals, we only consider the 1st post/deal editor post/wiki for consideration for reposts Smilie

thanks for posting!

I gave the link for the rebates, we don't need a every slightly different post. Should I create a new post for each Walmart post that Amazon matches

actually yes, if there is a pricematch at a different store, and the original poster does not update their op and no one adds it to the wiki, we would like to see a new thread, as there are always those who may prefer to buy at a different store for whatever reason (e.g. they have a gift card, they don't want to go to that store, etc.), and they are not going to see the alternative buried in the middle of a thread. in any case, if you would like to make a suggestion to see how others feel about it, feel free to post in the site issues/suggestions forum.

Be careful with this rebate program and read the fine print. it's not a straight forward $125 check in the mail rebate. These are credits earned on your bills but to earn them you have to sign up for their conservation program which includes 12 4-hour "events" which are essentially voluntary utility outages.

I remember trying to sign up for
Rush rewards. Ultimately it was not worth it to give them the ability to change my temperature remotely.
Also with all these ransom ware attacks everywhere I didn't want to give anyone access to anything inside my wifi. Granted, it could
Be API only access but who knows how it may get exploited to plant something into my network. YMMV.

Yea I have the ecobee and they basically just raise the thermostat by 5+ degrees as part of their save power events... I think that's what it was at least. Prior to the ecobee I was on the program where they remotely cycle the power to the AC and shut it down completely - that was super irritating. I thought our AC was broken a few times during those events lol

If I am not wrong, the SCE+SCG rebate is $125, not $175.

In addition, 20% is excluded on certain brands and Nest is one of them.
