Arg.. Primeday is coming July 11. Suported AFTV devices are bound to be heavily discounted again. Current sticks and boxes are Quad core allbeit less memory, but off a robust offering of the apps you will use as well sideload in..

You might as well wait to see What shakes out with AFTV. Kodi boxes that Were dependent on TVaddons dot AG are limping along. Roumers are rampent that the old DishNetwork lawyers are getting the band together and it would not suprise me that ISP's are delighted in that and more than happy to help..

Well, I will personally always prefer an Android box over Amazon Fire TV, not just for price but the way they've locked down the OS.
There are like a zillion games you can install on these boxes and play using the cheap cordless game controllers like this [ebay.com] !!!
I installed VLC Player on my box and I also used it to play kids movies on my DVD player in the mini-van! So it's a portable versatile device to carry and use anywhere after installing anything from Google Play store!
I'm never going back to my 3 Roku, 1 Chromecast and 1 Amazon Fire TV...!

Why does every box sold by GearBest have a 4.5 star rating? That concerns me.

Agree with you on Chromecast and Roku. But Amazon Fire stick is a different breed. It can run any app via side loading, the OS is smooth and the remotes that you hold and touch are much higher quality than Chinese junk remotes. The interface is also great for watching videos if u pay for prime. It also has most apps on its own market like Directvnow and most others. Finally its backed by Amazon so I know I don't have a SPYing engine on the inside of my Wi-Fi system . who knows what these android boxes run. Android is like wild wild west this box could be recording all your keystrokes and passwords and all your traffic unless you use a separate Gmail account and different router to go on the internet.

That never happened. Amazon did not discount AFTV boxes this year
