New BenQ HT2050 3D DLP projector for $599 w/ promo code at Fry's Electronics B&M only

I own one of these and think it has great 1080p picture quality and 3D for a reasonable price. For 3D you need to buy DLP Link glasses which are $20-$25 each from various source on Amazon MP.

BenQ Direct has sold the HT2050 refurbished for $525 many times, so this is $75 more + tax for a brand new one with a 1 year warranty. Of course you have to live near a Fry's store that has these in stock and you need to be signed up for their promo codes. It's already OOS for shipping which is normal for Frys.com.

The SUNDAY promo is good all week through Saturday 7/8, so if this is not a clearance/closeout at Fry's at this point, some Fry's B&M stores might get more in stock before the sale ends:

Having compared both I will tell you that the brightness difference is minimal, and I couldn't notice any improvement with the better color wheel or all glass lens. The HT2050 might be better in a brighter room. Personally I wouldn't upgrade a working W1070 to a HT2050 if brightness is the only thing you're unhappy with. They are very similar projectors. If you are going to upgrade for brightness, you should upgrade to a better model than the HT2050. If you want a second projector and are happy with the W1070, then the HT2050 is a great choice.

Fortunately for little old me, I'm a simpleton and quite satisfied with either a W1070 or HT2050. When the bulb dies, then I will investigate bulb replacement costs vs. upgrading to a different projector.

I think it went as low as $435 start of this year. Still waiting on buying it in that range. Tight on budget!

Would have got this if I hadn't already pulled the trigger on the Epson 2045 refurb last week.
Anyone have feedback on which of the two is better?

Why was this marked expired? Probably one person couldn't get the deal at his local store and did it in retaliation and the moderator probably never checked the deal. Too bad there's no button to un-expire a deal. EDIT: I just tried a mod alert to see if that works.

The deal is good all week long and solely depends on whether your local store has it in stock. I don't care about reps and I don't care if anyone posts or replies, but it would be nice if people would not mark things as expired when they aren't just because they couldn't get the deal because their local store is OOS. There are several Fry's across the country.
