This is probably my current favorite tablet first 2-in-1. I just wish it had Thunderbolt 3. Still, iris graphics make this much more capable than most other competitors.

^^ Not sure, whether people will be able to see this deal...already down voting started, probably because of not having a GTX 1060 at this price.

I have a Surface Pro 4 (i5) and was looking to upgrade to the new gen i7 processor with the Iris graphics included.

I purchased this at Best Buy 2 weeks ago and then returned it 5 days after. The battery life is the same as my SP4 and I didn't see any performance improvement. I'm guessing the unit is being throttled to keep the temperature or wattage down - hence limiting the performance. The fan was really loud and was on constantly. YouTube reviews said the speakers are better than SP 2017 - but I felt the SP4 speakers were better. Supposedly there is quick-charge, but that only masks the battery problem.

I was very disappointed since the HP X2 had a great screen, great keyboard and a great pen - the pen and keyboard were included free (savings of $230 over the new surface pro).

If you want to roll the dice and hoping HP updates the BIOS to better optimize battery or performance - it probably wont' happen for another 30-60 days. May be a good idea since there are other configurations coming (16GB ram or bigger hard driver).

For those not qualified for BB's .EDU discount - HP has 10% cash back through e*bates.

Still a bit too high of a price for what it is. But the Iris 640 graphics and 3x2 screen are pretty awesome. And when compared to the SP4 at least it comes with the keyboard and pen. Wish it had Thunderbolt 3 though, and it should at this price point. Also, the relatively small SSD and only 8GB of RAM are a bit of a downer as well.

The problem is cramming all those specs in such a small device. 3000x2000 high resolution screen, Iris Pro has to be draining on the battery. Probably a little too ambitious for such a small device.
