1080s have been relatively unaffected considering they're horrible ethereum miners

Mining ETH with a 1080 is like mining for gold with a spoon.

sell you RX580 then buy this.... that's why they are going out of stock... the gamers are upgrading by getting money by suckers/beginner miners.

I heard they prefer Radeon cards, still means miners are causing the price increases and making the higher end nVidia cards harder to find, in a roundabout way.

1070 and 1060 also. 1080ti is also good but power hungry

Considering the GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 DirectX 12 GV-N1080D5X-8GD 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5X PCI Expr was $419 back in April with 10% ebay bucks from Newegg on Ebay, I would hate to pay this price.

Was...back in April, doesn't help someone looking today. Try finding a new 1080 today...in stock from a retail seller.

Actually that ebay deal was on again just 2 weeks ago... just search for "1080" crypto prices have been a bit shaky lately that is why we are seeing some cards again

Good luck actually getting them to fulfill one of these. I have been trying to purchase various cards from Wal-Mart for a couple weeks now. The orders always get canceled for one crap reason after another.
