The 80V works pretty well. My grass had grown to just past knee length (vacation for 3 weeks) and it still mowed it down no problem without choking out. It did run into a few problem spots though in areas where the grass was tall AND thick.

I'd say go with the Kobolt if there's a Lowe's near you and you like the convenience of swinging by the store if there are any issues. Otherwise, I'd say go with the GreenWorks version. It's the same exact thing, but all the different 80V tools seem to be cheaper. For example, the mower was $300 a couple of weeks ago though I'm not sure if that was a flash sale or one time special.

I have the Kobolt + chainsaw in case anyone was wondering where my biases stem from.

People like you are why we can't have nice things. Seriously, do you take other consumables back to stores because they were consumed?

I don't expect much of a reply. Your ethics and moral character come across very clearly.

This is the one I wanted. Just started trying the battery powered lawn mowers. The Ryobi 40V was underwhelming. I hope this is better.

Lowest I have seen on the Kobalt 80v, down from $449. The cordless mowers seem to finally be dropping in price and quickly.Applause The GreenWorks 80v with 2 batteries and charger was $299 on Amazon a week and a half ago and The Home Depot Echo 58v with a 4Ah battery and charger was also $299 last week.

dammit I got the 80v self-propelled greenworks for $470 from amazon and it was delivered just last week. Would have jumped on this instead. I don't really need the self propel feature.

The 80v mowers are equivalent to a 160cc gas mower which is approximately 6Hp and they have more torque than the equivalent gas mower. They will still stall or slow down in really thick, tall or wet grass but no different than most gas mowers.

Thank you sir! I was able to get a 10% off one from here. $50 off $250 would have been sweeter but I took what I could get. Smilie

Good mower, I picked it up last week for 406. I'm reading that lowes will match their sale price but does anyone know if that includes 1 day sales?

Use Lowes 10% and remember that many stores are offering 11% rebate.

I bought the Echo during that sale too. I'm still waiting for it to be delivered. Do you know which one is better?
