This was definitely an issue with early ones. Ridgid replaced mine under warranty because it was pretty bad and support owned up to some gearing issues in the initial run. My replacement is great and has no wobble and little deflection (no more than any other sliding miter). The included blade sucks and the LED blade guide could be brighter, but it's a great saw, especially at this price.

Did you mail yours back or take it into a service center? If mailed, how long did it take to get a new one back? I am on my second one, still in the box. Btw-The first one was about 10mil diff between high and low points.

They sent me a new one, took about a week if I recall. The new one came with a shipping label for return of the old one in the new box as I had already tossed the original one.

These were $200 as recently as two weeks ago. I was fortunate to get another $50 off. $150 for this saw and didn't have any wobble issues.
