Great deal! Little bit more expensive, but it has octacore and 4K. It's almost as good as Mi Box.

Looks like expensive a bit. Most similar Android TV Boxes are priced between $30-$50.

Really?
I can't believe this...! So you mean all those boxes they are selling with "4K" in their title are NOT 4K?
Or are you referring to some specific profile or something e.g. "H.265-profile10" or something specific within the 4K category?
e.g. I am also in the market for a few TV boxes to replace my old Roku boxes/Amazon Fire sticks and Chromecast sticks!
So far I have bought one "V88 Plus" (2Gb/8Gb) and "TX2-R2" (2Gb/16Gb) both for under $30!
I've already received "V88 Plus" and am very happy with it, especially for this price. Hopefully TX2-R2 would also won't disappoint me, again for under $30...lol
I don't own a 4K projector or even a 4K TV so for some time in the future my only requirement will be smoothly playing 1080p content (streaming as well as local on HDD) in various formats (including h265 which are decoded by only 4K boxes BTW).

So, any suggestions for any boxes with at least 2GB RAM?

Note that Libre Elec doesn't work with this chipset except on a beta basis.

It's also worth noting that getting netflix to work on these sort of boxes can be a bit of a pain as you have to access netflix through chrome(unless things have changed and netflix changed their policy) Which makes this possibly not a good idea for a non techie's use even after their designated techie sets it up Wink Mind you I *REALLY* hope I'm wrong as I'm looking for something inexpensive that will access netflix AND SMB shares (I've given up on it being a bluray player since LG went towards smartshare after they finally got it right with the player I bought back in 2010 which has in time for my wee one's return from summer camp become largely unusable for both netflix and blurays Frown It does still access SMB shares quite well, so there's that at least...

Here are some test bench results, way at the bottom! Cheap but other boxes maybe better than this.
