Dell U2515H (25" 2560x1440 IPS) Monitor $270 (new), $239 (open box excellent) at Best Buy + FS

Your choice of a new one for $269.99 or a "open box excellent" for $238.99.

If you're going for the cheapest monitor that won't make you feel like tearing your eyes out, this deal is not for you. If you're going for a great looking monitor at a great price, this is for you.

I actually bought two of these last weekend when it was on sale for $279.99. I called Best Buy and they adjusted the price retroactively. No regrets about spending the extra $100 to get this monitor over the cheaper "good quality" monitors. The stock stand on this tilts and twists in every way you would want.

EDIT: this deal should be on through 7/8 since it's on the weekly ad dated to end 7/8. http://deals.bestbuy.com/?categor...%20Tablets

I recently got an Ultrasharp but the experience was just ok. Not the best monitor I had, but not the worst either. My model has noticeable IPS glow and can never hit black levels as much as my VA panel can (very noticeable during movies).

I highly recommend this monitor for $270. Also, 25" is perfect 1440p IMO. Everything looks great on it at 100% scaling. It's hard to go back to 1080p once you use this. Also, 1440p is a lot easier to run than 4K for gaming at high and max settings.

Sounds like best for gaming. Not for me though.

I prefer 16:10 format by far over 16:9, but not familiar with recent larger than 24 inch stuff. I don't game, so the one listed in this thread seems like it would be an Ultrasharp style like my U2410. Don't think worthwhile for one more inch though
I am just a bit rusty... Would possibly like a bit larger for side by side surfing/multi tasking.

I have 2 of these monitors for work and are perfect for my needs. The anti reflective coat works perfectly since I sit in an office where sun beams in and could hardly notice any reflection. 2560x1440 gives me enough real estate to code and multitask. The format is 16:9 and not 16:10 which I had previously with the Dell U2412, but the extra 240px vertically makes up for it.

Overall, great monitor for everyday needs but not sure about gaming, have not tested it.

The 16:9 vs. 16:10 ratio really doesn't matter once you hit 1440p.

This monitor has more vertical space than a 16:10 1920x1200 (1200 vs. 1440).

They need to sell the U2715H. That's what I'm looking for.

The perfect size for 1440 is highly subjective and dependent on vision, but I have heard more people say 27 inch is ideal (and I agree). That said, I'm sure 25 can work for some.

I have two of these. Excellent monitors. They aren't the cheapest, but (maybe not counting gaming) they are the best monitors you can buy.
