Not much of a deal for a 2tb when 3tb is only $25 more regular at price of $79.99

Nearly as many one and two Stars reviews as there are four and five. Run away, no need to chance your data with those odds.

Hard drives are notorious for complaint reviews. Most people who buy hard drives and have no problems with them, don't leave reviews. In addition, most complaints are about DOA drives, which are immediately replaced by the seller or manufacturer.

I have 2 of these drives in my system from previous deals. One is two years old, the other a year, and I've had no issues. Perfect for a raid setup.

But last time I was able to get a 3tb for this price.

I know all hard drives are susceptible to failure, but I've personally had 2 bad experiences with this one. i.e. bought two some time I saw a deal, and both failed within 2 years.

Wouldn't use a Toshiba drive if it were free

I had a Toshiba drive that lasted me about 5 years. Good for a budget drive. I wouldn't store anything in it that you may need though for an extended period of time. I had mostly music and movies, which I don't really need anymore due to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and Spotify so it wasn't too big of a deal.

Not so sure about that:

The age of hard drives has come and gone. I'm waiting for higher capacity SSDs to become available and affordable.
