If you choose No Rush shipping at checkout there will be a $37.39 discount bringing the pre-tax total to $46.44. This may only be for Prime members. Idk if this is their answer to the Walmart pickup discount.. this is the first Amazon no-rush discount I've come across.

For intermediate, a crap paddle can be as dangerous to technique as a powerful but specific one. I'd personally avoid this paddle if you don't know your playing style, as the heavy spin makes it harder to return good players' hits, and less control forces you into an aggressive player, which you may or may not be. HOWEVER, it's a very good price, and one I was considering. If you don't care, and don't mind giving up a potentially better playing style for YOU in exchange for a good paddle where you can show off your spins to friends, then go for it!

I personally really enjoy table tennis, but am not pro enough to spend more than $50 on a bat. I just bought a Custom Gamer AC Hero, which has a more flexible blade and semi-soft rubber. I'd have preferred harder rubber to force more mechanical spin technique, but that would have added another $20. I know my playing style, and this won't alter that.

EDIT:. This is NOT an $80 paddle, or at least I wouldn't pay that much for it. If you want a half decent paddle, I would suggest the two pack of Mapol for $20 on Amazon. Someone at work brought them in, and I've beaten everyone with them, including players that come in with their $100 paddles and cases. It's a fairly all round paddle that can help you determine what kind of player you are.

See my above post. I'll try getting the link on here.

EDIT:. Here's the link. https://www.amazon.com/MAPOL-Professional-Paddle-Advanced-Training/dp/B01IMPAKEA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499182658&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=mapol+table+tennis+paddle&psc=1

$18.99 for two paddles and carrying case, very good. Not super high quality, but plenty good enough for beginning to learn the game. Just like any sport, don't rush in with expensive equipment until you can validate your purchase with skill Smilie

Discount is there for me don't have prime.

I'm much more familiar with tennis...for intermediate players does a crap paddle have as much of an impact as a crap tennis racket?

What would be a better beginner racquet closer to $30?

if you need a cheap paddle - there are plenty in a $7 - $15 range
if you need a competition paddle - this one won't do
