Hi all,
Vitamix has the Certified Refurbished 780 blender for $399.95 + tax and free shipping when you use the code 06-007938. It comes with a 5 year warranty.

Seems like a pretty solid deal for this blender...

Good luck.

Isn't a new one the same price or less at Costco?

I purchased one a few years ago that was like brand new. Not a scratch or blemish and I believe that they supply a new cannister as well.

This is a good deal and I can also vouch for the condition of their refurbished models too. The containers are new and the base units looks practically new too.

For those wondering, this is the last of the G-Series made truly in USA (assembled and parts origination). I would have jumped on this had I not gotten a deal on the ascent 3500...

or just buy a blendtec. You can often get them certified refurbished for ~200.

I've used both blendtec and vitamix blenders and I really don't see why anyone would spend 400 on this over the blendtec.

The Jar.

Unless they have a new design, the blendec jar is garbage. I had them fail on me over and over again. If it fails in warranty you have no blender for a week or two while the replacement ships, but outside of warranty and you are out $100 each time. Without getting detailed the bearings in Vitamix jar hold up better.

I wish I bought the vitamix vs the blendtec. None of my friends/ fam with vitamix have had issues, ever.

I have the refurb Blendtec for $200. 2 years old, closing in on 1000 on the counter, never an issue. Got lucky I guess.

confused between this reconditioned Pro 500 (280+ tax). Not sure if a container is worth 120! I don't care about 2hp vs 2.2hp or touchscreen.

Maybe it does matter. Make sure that you have enough counter clearance. Those tall containers add a few inches to the height of the blender. It would never fit on my countertops beneath my cabinets. The 780 has a shorter but wider container. Just take some measurements before buying..

They're all still made in the US at the same capacity.. Not sure what you mean by this.

Hi Blenderman,

Absolutely. Vitamix transitioned to a new CEO who vowed to strengthen their balance sheet. The Ascent line was then released and for the first time, can no longer state "made in USA" but instead "Assembled in the USA." This is because part origination is no longer higher than the threshold needed to state "made in" because of foreign parts. This lowered the costs but kept the image of American to consumers and with that they raised the warranty to further improve their image, a win win from consumer perception and lowering costs and strengthening their earnings.

While not a bad thing and honestly I'm very happy with my Ascent, Blendtec had a point higher in my book for still being made in the US.

Hope this helps!
