Nintendo is notorious for being stubborn with price drops on first party titles, like Splatoon. They're about the only company you can not worry about a big price drop around the corner if you purchase early.

As of right now yes. Also Splatoon 2 appears to be out of stock on Amazon at the moment as well.

It seems that Walmart has been using their pick up discount to match amazon prices, so I think this is in response to the Amazon price from earlier. Great deal for those without GCU or prime. Can't wait for this game.

General question. I purchased a switch for my kids for Christmas. Is it wise to buy these new games at release prices/deals, or will waiting closer to Black Friday/holiday deals be the best time to purchase? Thanks.

Seems depending on the store you might not be able to pick this up release day (7/21). Mine was showing a pickup date of 7/23 and then once in cart, 7/27. Kind of confused. Great deal for sure, but just make sure you're looking at your pickup date so you aren't disappointed later!

Depends on the game, how long you wait, price etc. Nintendo is notorious for stopping production on product without forewarning. But probably no harm in waiting for black friday on any game for switch at this point. Amiibo is a different story and anything Zelda you better pre order if you can and want it for MSRP.

With Nintendo stuff, the price drops are pretty far and few between especially with a major title like this. Last year after Black Friday, Best Buy had BOGO 40% off Nintendo titles that would stack with Gamers Club for a total of 20% and 60% off respectively. They will probably do this again but it's hard to say if Splatoon2 will be on the list.

This is a pretty good price, I would get it now for the peace of mind.

This is the cheapest you'll find it new, a stand alone copy-- so not counting BOGO or similar deals, for at least a year. You might find a used copy a few months after launch on Craigslist

I almost jumped on it and thought to myself I'll pay the extra $1.29 (after tax) to have it delivered by Amazon. The Walmart online pickup and can be a pain in the ice.

No tax? Is that a bug? If so, nice!
