I ordered a box of the Larabar Chocolate Chip Cherry Torte flavor. Taste isn't bad. Texture is a little too gummy for me. Good price for this product, if you like a chewy snack bar.

Personally, I prefer the satisfying crunch of Gatorade Recover bars or the fresher-tasting Kind Plus bars.

Peanut butter cookie and cashew cookie, are both heavenly. The Cherry larabars are ok have a weird aftertaste and very sweet...so I'd try these 2 or (apple if you prefer fruit flavors) -

I only buy some larabars now, switched to mostly health warrior pumpkin seed dark chocolate its amazing, and much less sugar carbs + a bit more protein

Theres raw rev glo bars. Great value for High fiber, low carb/low sugar, and taste great. Not too chewy or hard and great texture

Sure, why not. I've never actually bought these before, only have tried random samples given out at various events, but they weren't bad. Will see how they are for this price. Went for Cashew Cookie.

To those who live in the Northeast, right now my Ocean State Job Lot is carrying boxes of a few different flavors for $7 each. YMMV.

Hope that helps someone!

Basically a typical garbage ingredients and high carbs to low protein snack. Just don't go buying these thinking they suffice as protein bars and it's an okay deal.

I'd go for a Kind bar too. These have a lot of sugar.

Depends on your definition of garbage. Some people might prefer a bar with two natural ingredients (cashews, dates) over a bar with a page of highly processed ingredients and chemicals

I agree and disagree. Just because an ingredient goes through different processes doesn't make it anymore bad for you. It really depends on the specific ingredient, regardless of how foreign or complex the processing to create it was. Random example, the most processed level of whey protein, isolate, is vastly superior for absorption than its less processed versions, without any downsides.

My argument for Lara bars is mostly based on how almost all stores place them in the middle of protein bars, so consumers are usually mislead by their purpose. They should be considered comparable to cereal and granola bars if anything.

I think that's because the price point is so high compared to granola bars.

They do make great meal replacement bars and are perfect for the paleo diet. Personally, I love them - not the ones with the candy chips or added sugar, but the apple/lemon/cherry ones are fantastic. They're 200 calories but just nuts and fruits.
