I have been buying this for years. Over the past few years I have lost two of my cats at 18 and 19 years old. My survivor is 17 and doing fine. Through experience I can't agree with you.

This is a very good deal for this brand if you regularly buy this brand. Unfortunately I have already used the $5 coupon, however it is a fair price even without the additional $5 off coupon.

2 of the first 3 ingredients are
- brewers rice an inexpensive filler with little nutritional value (Some fiber)
- corn gluten meal an inexpensive filler with a small amount of protein (Many say this is not easily digested by animals so it artificially makes the food look more nutritious than it really is).

This one at least has chicken at the top. Other (cheaper) Purina brands like Friskies, Cat Chow, even Fancy Feast are mostly fillers; chicken and turkey are well below all the fillers on the list. The only decent Purina food seems to be the Beyond and Muse brands, but those are normally $3-$5/lb. At that point you might as well go for better brands like Blue Buffalo, Taste of the Wild, etc. and still probably pay less.

Why get a pet, if you're going to slowly kill it with "food"?

Nice. This is the only thing my neurotic cat will eat. She won't even eat cat treats.

That's a ridiculous assumption. I've used store brand cat food for 15+ years with many cats and have never had issues. Beyond the annual checkup I think I probably average a visit once every 2-3 years for a minor illness.

At that point, you might as well just buy raw meat and feed your cat like a human.

Pretty damn amazing deal. I pay 23 + tax at Walmart for the indoor flavor. With 15% s&s and coupon this came to $11.71.
