I got this card when they had 80000 points with $50 bonus statement credit. Points are not worth much.. must be around 1:1.5 to 1:3 depending upon the location. So, 80000 points will fetch you around 300 to $500 worth of hotel room. Most of the hotel would be like 1:2 to 1:3. That said, free night itself is well worth of $49 yearly fee. Last year, I picked the room which was $150 per night with annual free night promo.

If you ever go to Vegas, the annual free night with this is a no-brainer for the $49 AF. Stay at the Palazzo or Venetian for free (easily $300-$400 a night if you get a free upgrade, which I always do).

Lots of international destinations that are even pricier, but the free annual night is good anywhere.

The IHG property has been sold to another so its not their anymore but yes. I got the 80k and then used the crap out of it.. it was like 95k points for 3 nights. And we used our southwest miles for the flight.. cheapest vacation we ever took.

You rock, I found an all-inclusive resort in Montego for 20k points a night, and RT flights on AA for 30k points. This trip may be free for my gf and I after two credit cards, alone!

Does the free night comes from 2nd year onwards? Not for the first year, right?
What kind of hotel chains are covered in free night and for points? Any list? IHG group?

Are the points transferrable to Sapphire Reserve? I just got approved for the Business Ink Preferred card a few days ago. Not sure if I should apply for another card so soon :-/
