Anyone know if this can be powered by the TV's built in USB port or does it need more juice?

why not just get a chromebook with way better intel processor, double the ram, double the storage, a screen, a keyboard, and an HDMI port to connect to any tv

No. The TV USB ports are not powerful enough to run these. You'd need to use the included power supply

In for 1! Great for running Slingplayer app to connect my old Slingbox HD Pro over VPN when on vacation. Works good with Rii Backlit Air Mouse.

FYI - the win10 Intel Wifi driver bundled on these typically doesn't support softAP so you would need to add another USB wifi to share VPN connection over hotel wifi. Hope the fan is less noisy than my other one (Z83S 64bit).

these are definitely not more portable unless you want to carry around a tv. A chromebook you can take anywhere like a laptop and watch movies on the go cuz it has a battery and screen. Or better yet just install android apps on it or get linux

pocket size = portable. anything larger, not so much. Besides, there are TV everywhere, so your argument doesn't work well. If u really want to watch movies on the go, use a smartphone...everyone has one nowadays...
