Agreed. Wish these companies would stop cheaping out by throwing in a crappy light instead of a useful tool.

Yep. I'm slowly replacing my old C3 stuff with Ridgid. As Craftsman quality continues to decline, Ridgid is putting out some really great stuff and the lifetime service which includes free battery replacement is unbeatable.

My Friends have given me their sets. I have 7 drills and 3 Recip saws. Nobody wants to replace the batts because even the new Bats suck !

They make an off brand battery that is a knock off of the big XCP for sub $40 on amazon but doesn't come with rubber gripping.

While I do agree they are not the best they are made by the same manufacturer as the Ryobi stuff so if its on par and since I have already invested in this line... a couple drills, a couple 1/4 impacts, a couple 1/2 impacts, flashlights, radio, etc. all bought either open box or at the local sears outlet for cheap so sticking with this line for now. I just bought this deal and it gave me $10 in surprise points so it was $160 out the door (the $10 basically covered tax here in TX). I paid around $40 each for the 1/4 and 1/2 impacts, $30 a piece on the drills, and almost all the drills and impacts I bought came with the stock small lithium battery. The radio I only paid $24 with no battery, and a couple of the flashlights were only $10 a piece without battery on sale. So its a cheap line and good enough for home use and if you have a friend with Ryobi tools (I do) then you don't have to worry about them making off with your tools or batteries.

My mom is a property manager and all her guys use Ryobi (probably because they can't afford Ridgid with her pay haha). They beat on them hard and daily and none complain about the line. I went craftsman since I am different I guess but its the same manufacturer with minute differences. I am only using around the house so these fit my needs fine. I wanted the circular saw, sawzall, and charger (I needed one more, I only had one left after selling extras on amazon). I will agree with other commentator bummer about no impact. I would have preferred the 1/4 impact driver over the flashlight for sure, even for the drill (I will have 3 of those now).

I just ordered the 6 piece set to round out my collection. Much better tools and light in that kit (plus a cool huge tool bag) but you do have to pay up for them. Some of these tools go for crazy prices on ebay so I'll enjoy them for awhile, take care of them and then jump to ryobi once sears completely drops the line.

With the big kit for example the multi tool is going for $150 on ebay. Sell that and you have a 5 piece set with impact, one bigger battery, big tool bag and better light for less then this 4 piece set.
