Yep, and the 65" for me, supposedly around October

Tempted to get this, not so enthused about best buy's return policy. Has anyone compared this to the S series at costco?

I think the only difference is the HDR and the LED lighting

I would Google it, but I'm pretty sure the differences are far more than that. For starters, I can't see any reference to the 55S403 having full array local dimming, like the P605/P607.

According to the spec sheet, the P series has local dimming as opposed to direct dimming for the S series. Both have HDR10, but the P series has dolby vision as well. Not making out much of a difference other than that. 55S403 is the same as 405 (warehouse vs retailer). I'm thinking of saving the $200 and picking up the S series since its for a bedroom anyway. Plus Bestbuy's 15 day return policy vs costco 90 helps.

Exact reason I'm waiting for the P series as it's for a family room "main TV" area, the old zenith (I know, don't laugh) led will go to the bedroom.

I bought this TV a week ago from Best Buy and have no regrets. It really is phenomenal! The difference between pictures on the S and P series is night and day. I would not recommend the S series (check reviews on the S series). It isn't even close to being in the same class as the P series. Also, while I previously never had Roku, or any streaming player for that matter, I am quickly becoming a fan of the built in Roku interface. I can't recommend this TV enough and fully expect the price for future TCL TVs in this series to increase given the rave reviews this TV has received from dozens of reputable tech sites. Other TVs that perform like this one are in the 2k price range.

could you provide some links for the reviews on the S you were looking at?

This is probably the best quality budget TV on the market right now at 55" - it compares favorably to many much more expensive brands. I'm waiting on the 65" version coming out later this year and will likely choose between that or the 2017 Vizio M series.

Had few videos made compared to s series. For non dolby content, u will not see much difference. I returned s series coz fald in p is damn good in dark scenes. S is also fine. I had some $ to spare and kind of psychological future proof feeling with p series.

I've been tracking this TV for the past week now, and I'm all abuzz about ordering it. Everything I've read has been glowing reviews, the best bang for your buck out there at this price with these amount of features. Looking to pair this panel with the Xbox One X when it comes out in November.
