Best Buy has the Dyson V7 cordless stick vacuum for $327.99. This version has the larger battery (30 min. runtime vs 20 min of the V6) and most of the other upgrades that the V8 has (ie. the better trash release mechanism).

Can someone who owns this comment on whether the LEDs indicate battery life for you? I have the v7 and both LEDs are blue while in use, and then the vac just dies when the the battery drains. If I hit the trigger then, the LEDs will flash. Dyson support keeps telling me that when the battery is half full and vac is in use, one LED will turn off. I am not seeing this behavior and wondering if it's a defective unit, or support just doesn't know what they're talking about.

Are these things notably stronger than the other brand stick vacs? We have an Electrolux and it drops half the crap it picks up when we turn it off.

According to this, yes, the Dyson vacuums have the best suction, at least under $300. https://www.engadget.com/2017/01/...ck-vacuum/

I'm very actively looking for a new stick vacuum and tempted to jump on this. I was leaning toward a V8 but this is over $100 cheaper....
