A "World" card with 3 percent foreign transaction fee...sigh.

What I normally do is treat this card like a debit card. I'll shop with the card as I would normally with my debit. Pay it off monthly until the time frame to earn the cash back. Food shopping, gas, household items. That would add up quickly.

Don't mess with small banks, they will make your life harder. Try Chase freedom unlimited, spend $500 get $150_$300 back( supports match) or Chase AARP card, get $200 for spending $500.

Chase's 5/24 rule disqualifies me from getting the freedom so these are a great option for people in the same boat

I don't think so. It was $200/1000 when I applied in May. There was a targeted offer for one of the Chase Freedom cards that was $200/500 (normally $150 or $175 on $500).
