I've been waiting for a Denon to go on sale for 400 or so for a while.. But people say Yamaha I'd WAY more reliable nowadays. What would be a comparable Yamaha? Idk much about receivers

Comparable Yamaha is the RX 1060. It will cost you a lot more. Yamahas are very bright sounding but the build quality is second to none.

This triggered an old alert ..had completely forgotten about it. This does 5.1.2 Atmos. Probably worth it for $599 but I've now promised myself to wait for the uprgrade until a 7.1.4 receiver is available in this price range ... keeps me controlled for the next couple of years.

What about a Yamaha for 400-600$ that supports 4K60 and HDR (not pass through), does that exist? Even if it's low wattage like 70Watts

Edit: seems like there's a lot of people on Amazon selling for this price. Is it just very new and being priced at this or is it on sale?

I'd guess these will drop in price quite a bit more this year with HDMI 2.1 coming late this year/early next.

What do you mean not passthrough? Even that Denon is pass-through.

I assume Audyssey XT32 is not worth the $300 premium over the cheapest XT model (Denon X1300), right? Especially so if I have the Elac Unifi / SVS subwoofer, not super high end stuff? My room is quite reflective though and Im unlikely to treat it.

This is a highly rated receiver at a great price. The new models are probably coming out soon and they are trying to clear their inventory. I just bought one from Best Buy two weeks ago and just requested a price match. As long as the order is fulfilled by Amazon, it should be approved.

Like how Denon has the MultiEQ XT32, does Yamaha also have something like that? Because I'd like a new receiver since my Denon 2113Ci bottlenecks 4K to 30fps,but at the same time I also want a new sub so I feel like I should get something with MultiEQ XT32 minimum, but I'd rather not spend so much on a receiver that I don't need so much from it, but I'd also hate to buy a new receiver and then a new nice sub and it be bottlenecked a lot

Yamaha has YPAO. The higher end is YPAO R.S.C., which then itself has two tiers (the higher being multi-point). I have no experience with any of this, but I gather that base YPAO sucks, the higher two tiers may be competitive with Audyssey XT and XT32, but seems like you have to spend more to get them. Also, Audyssey EQs lower frequencies than YPAO. Take all that with a grain of salt and as a starting point for googling, as I could be off on some stuff.

Been eyeing this and the 4300. No Fry's anywhere near me and don't really have the need for speaker setup of 4300. This is perfect. for my 5.1 inside and 2 speakers / zone 2 outside.

I have some crazy wiring going on to turn digital into audio for a bunch of components currently for my old Denon AVR-889's Zone 2. Looking forward to cleaning up a lot of wiring and have two, fully separate zones that can both handle digital signals.

No tax almost makes this match the Fry's $499 deal on the same receiver that thy've run (not that I can get to a Fry's anyway)

Thanks and repped, OP!
