The 1.8 is nice but the bokeh isn't nearly as clean as the 1.4, I upgraded from the d model and was disappointed by the lack of improvements other than focus accuracy in good light due to the AFS motor

Good deal on the 28mm. A beautiful and extraordinarily sharp lens that's especially useful with a DX body.

I must add that while this is a useful and informative post it's really just a summary of the most current Nikon promotion. If you follow the major manufacturers you'll quickly learn that they regularly cycle through various promotions each quarter or so.

Don't see the lens you want? Wait a few months. I'll never buy another lens at "retail" again.

I have a D5300 with the 2 lens kit that is 18-55 and 70-300mm. I tend to use the 18-55 more, should I get 35mm? I eventually want to get both. But right now I do more landscape then portrait.

Before I bought 35mm I used to use my 18-55 alot. it is a very sharp lens. I rarely use my 18-55 now

The lens kit is junk IMO. Sell both. Get 35mm, then save up for better primes.

In for the 35mm. Everyone ive talked to has told me to replace my 18-55mm kit lens with a 35mm prime lens when I can afford it. Gonna snatch this one. Im new to photography and what im interested in is astrophotography. Got any lens suggestions?

Looks like B&H might be the same price. Might check Amazon also...there is an instant rebate/sale going on, on lens only purchases.

For the 35 f1.8 same price at B&H. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr..._1_8G.html
