1920 x 1080 resolution at 60Hz
6 ms response time
23" widescreen flat-panel IPS LED monitor
HDMI and VGA inputs
178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles
8,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (1000:1 typical)
250 cd/m² brightness

I guess the 60Hz and single HDMI input are a bit lame, but looks like an ok deal regardless

Is this better than the $100 Acer H6 Series 23" IPS posted recently? Link: https://slickdeals.net/f/10308192-acer-h6-series-23-ips-led-hd-monitor-model-h236hlbid-black-for-99-99

Wondering if I should cancel the Acer and order this Dell.

the panels are probably about the same in quality... i would say stick with the acer just for the extra inputs it has (oddly enough some random situation may require you to have vga or dvi... had that happen for me this last xmas time...)

if your wondering, acer gained more momentum in the us market after their acquisition of gateway while I believe they are still leading in the euro market so their name is not bad... they are basically on par with hp and dell (although I will give dell credit for some of their newer stuff since going private has been fairly nice for the price)

the input lag will be around 10 ms for gaming you can expect on either due to the ips screen

you won't get anything lower without shelling out more cash

I'd get the dell but then again I wouldn't touch the acer for free or if you paid me so I might be biased.

Way too many of their devices have broken on me or broke on people I know. Their warranty service is also a joke.

I also really like my Dell monitors. While they are all in the ultrasharp line and much better than this if they are anywhere near the same then there isn't much of a reason to look elsewhere.

Opinions are funny aren't they?

Agreed, had an Acer "Ferrari" IPS monitor that crapped out way too soon.
Meanwhile, a refub Dell IPS for less has worked years longer already...

I have been through hundreds of monitors at work. Dell in general makes a decent IPS monitor, as does Asus. Acer, viewsonic, and the off brands have all failed at a far greater percentage so I no longer purchase them, regardless of the price.

While I have no personal experience to offer about monitor life. (I do own both Dell and Acer IPS monitors, but neither has died yet. Acer is new) I would say Dell is superior in support. Acer won't even list their monitor models on their website.

How much of a deal is this really? Seems similar models on Amazon are only $20 more. Is it just ~$20 off?

Is this glossy? It looks to me that it's some kind of mid-gloss, but I'm not sure...
