How's the screen on this? Has windows gotten better at scaling for this?

Yes, it's the "new" Blade Stealth.

I confess I have not used scaling to any degree - native resolution for life. I will check it tonight, but have not had good experiences in the past other than setting up machines for Old Peeps.

Scaling Edit:
Windows 10 Recommends 250% scaling. Which brings elements to what size most would expect with a decent yet small display. I have run into cases where apps will completely ignore the scaling and operate at dpi level. An example of that includes Tibia. But that is more on OS + stupid high-res display.

In terms of bezel it is as illustrated on site - ~0.75" around edge of screen. Back is shaped to prevent accidental flex. Blah blah. I will edit with better measurements this evening as well.

Bezel Measurement Edit:
Top: 0.65"
Left/Right/Bottom: 0.8"

Touch screen use is good enough for interacting with native ui elements. A convenience that you probably won't use due to screen smudging.

Finally on the topic of gaming / the razer core:
The internal graphics is vanilla Intel. No hardcore gaming without "help". The core is a pretty realistic play. Use external monitor only in those cases as you will not experience diminished fps from thunderbolt round-trip. The catch is $150 499(!) + whatever graphic card you toss in. Plus is upgradability, minus is bandwidth and investment.

Editus Maximus:
- That SSD: After market pricing is way the heck better. NVMe M.2
- That Price: No comment. Stick Out Tongue
- That CPU: Might be aimed more at power savings than nose bleed performance, also do not do what I did and set power preferences to lock cpu at max performance. That thermal management may burn a hole through thy nethers

Pointless benchmarks:

http://www.3dmark.com/vrm/20977188 - VR Blue Room
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/20977592 - 3D Mark Time Spy
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/20977768 - Fire Strike Ultra
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/20977840 - Fire Strike Extreme (See a trend yet?)
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/20977934 - Generic Fire Strike

["Real World" / Office Work]

Variation between Orange and Blue may indicate limitations in Thunderbolt 3.
For non-core configuration - ignore gpu stuff. GPU probably represents "optimum" arrangement.

I suppose I should do a few disclaimer bits:
I have owned this laptop and a core for several months. It has replaced my old desktop and suits me for the "work at work, play at home" style. External GPU options imo are a good idea, but there are varying degrees of success with execution. No claims here about "best". I will not disagree that an equal or better machine can be built as a desktop at less than price point.

No, the QHD+ screen is 13" with the smaller bezels. The 4k screen is the older 12.5" with larger bezels.

You can really appreciate that 4k resolution on your 12" screen. Dumb.

Not me hard pass! For $900 I can get a gaming power house, this with onboard graphics and non touch screen on the lowest cost model is a joke.

Isn't the Core $499?

You are correct. Will edit that. Think I still had Andrew's review in mind.

So $1,700 for a pretty looking laptop that doesn't even have a discrete GPU? What am I missing here? Even the horribly overpriced Surface Books or Macbooks give you more at that range.

Telling me to buy an additional $400 box to play a game is not exactly a sensible option.

Love the $400 price bump for an SSD increase.

Mac books definitely don't give you more in fact they give less lol you won't find an i7 in a MacBook with 512GB and this much ram for less than 2k. Plus since when did any of your options have a RGB keyboard.

Better off going with an MSI at this price imo.
