Agreed, Rtings.com does have better scores on Vizio and TCL for a number of important visual components (contrast, local dimming, brightness) but LG is maybe slightly better in grays and color. TCL has no motion interpolation. Vizio has no TV tuner.

Some comes down to subjective factors/personal preference.
* LG has more premium design
* LG has 40W speakers (20W woofer) vs. TCL has 8W (irrelevant if you have a sound bar though)
* LG webOS is considered the best smart TV OS - though again depends if you already have Chromecast/Roku/Fire TV etc
* LG has the widest viewing angle of the three - may/may not be important depending on your setup

Buy Dig has no sales tax vs. sales tax at BB/Amazon - which closes the gap significantly on price.

Overall, I think this is competitive with TCL and Vizio - comes down to what you value most.

I would steer clear of TVs in this price range. With the $450 HDR TVs out there, it doesn't make sense to get something like this.

My advice is to go cheap and get a very good TCL / Hisense for about 1/2 the price. If you do want to spend more money, get a TV with OLED or Quantum Dot technology. The added cost on those sets will be justified and noticeable.

These mid-range TVs are rip offs, based on my experience.

This TV should be priced at the $600-$700 range for what it offers. I think the $599 Vizio and $599 TCL are better.

I'm intrigued because it's 120hz, and is a $1200 TV. However, the reviews are middling and I'm not sure this is better than the many $500 TV on sale right now. Any ideas?

Seems like a good deal considering it is sell for 1.2-1.3k everywhere else. New model will meaningful improvements over the 2016 model. Reviews for the TV are above average.

Wondering why there hasn't been more "thumbs" for this.

I ended up researching this tv all day and looked deeper into a few other tvs like the tcl.

I ended up buying this TV. For $799 I ended up thinking its a very good price. Worth $200 more over the TCL.

I wanted the 15ms input lag or anything under 20ms and can't buy Samsung since their 2017 models are a joke and Sony sits close to 40ms.

I bought a nice soundbar from prime days since I was planning on buying the TCL but since LG has great sound I can return it and they end up the same price almost.

This TV should be front page. Comes to show how hit or miss SD can be. I am sure primeday played a role.

I'm so conflicted on this. I need to get a TV for the living room but my biggest issue when I tried a LG 4k TV at the end of last year, the lack of contrast/grey blacks is what completely put me off and ended up going for a M series Vizio for my bedroom.

I initially ordered this TV based upon the specs, but decided to swing by a retailer with it on display.

I've requested an order cancellation and encourage others to demo the unit prior to purchase. The viewing experience is not for everyone, and other options in the price range should be considered as well.

Based upon the in-store demo, I've placed another order of a different set that I'm feeling far more confident about.

Could I ask what set you chose instead?

The Vizio P50-C1. There's another active deal with incentives and rebates. It also made more sense given I'm more concerned with viewing experience and less sensitive to the size difference.
