iBotta will likely revoke your $20 when Amazon notifies them you have cancelled. I don't know for this specific offer but they often have language to recall bonuses and I've seen it done before. Not like you would be the first person to think "outside" the box by purchasing something, claiming a rebate or bonus, and then returning or cancelling it.

For others they also have a 3% or 5% rebate on Amazon devices and some other categories.

The correlation between this and returning a physical product after claiming a rebate is weak at best. Returning a physical product after receiving the rebate is a violation of the terms of the agreement. The terms of this rebate - like any promotional offer - simply require you to sign up for a service and maintain it until certain conditions are met. I fulfilled the terms of the agreement by maintaining my membership for the required period of time (45 days) and owe them nothing more. This is no different than closing a bank account after they pay out a bonus for making X transactions or depositing X amount within a given period of time.
