ATH M50X is simple the best budget headphones I ve ever come across. Awesome sound quality with high Fidelity and decent lows. Comfortable and conveniently foldable.
To top it all, it's having best price ever now. I bought it for $125.

Anyone using the M50x for gaming? Do you use a mix amp or go direct from headphone out on your AVR?

I own the M50X headphones. You will be blown away by the sound, compared to others in this price point. My son's Beats sound like garbage when you do a comparison.

For this price, do not hesitate!

Are the 30s worth it? The 50s are just too pricey for me.

And as for anyone that is unsure about the m50x, just look at tbe reviews, on amazon and on youtube, they are the most reviewed and always gets the best compliments for their sound

I bought the M50x about a year ago and use them daily for my job. I'm constantly putting them on my head and taking them off again and thus far have held up very well. I REALLY like the sound they produce. I had a pair of M40x prior to these and they only lasted 10 months before the plastic attaching one of the earphones snapped. I looked for replacement parts online but couldn't find anything. I definitely don't recommend wasting your money on the M40x if you plan to use them on a regular basis.

I have the m40x since sept 2015, bought it for $72. Great sound compared to many of the other ones I've bought, and is still being used daily at my work office. Would highly recommend.

Only complaint is that the moveable parts of the plastic will get 'sticky'. I've had to lubricate it with some white lithium grease. Seems to be a common problem with this pair, not sure about the m30x, or m50x.

Best investment for my job so far (as a programmer)

Also noted is that the ATH-m50x is part of the "additional Amazon Store Card 5% back" promo. So you get the standard 5% back with the card plus an additional 5% back for a total of 10% back. This brings the total on that model to $100.58. I'm not sure if the other models are eligible.

Details here [amazon.com]
