Can SD disable that "Sorry. This deal has expired" popup?

We often still need to post comments or discuss things in expired deal threads. That popup message shows up every time we post a comment or visit an expired thread, and it's extremely annoying. Can we please stop using that popup message? I think we can all agree that we can read the big expiration message on the thread itself. We don't need a popup to tell us each time we access the thread.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback and letting us know your thoughts! When we launched this feature, we understood that the pop up wouldn't be for everyone, which is why we give users a way to permanently turn it off.

If you click the gear icon on the bottom left of the modal, you will see an option for "Don't show this again". Clicking that will prevent the modal from displaying again.

One thing to note: if you are using incognito or if you clear your cookies/local storage regularly, this will get reset.

Hope this resolves your concerns Smilie

Thanks. It is helpful. But, I would suggest that SD makes it more obvious. The gear icon is gray (not a solid color and less visible) and in a left corner (that's a very uncommon place for a feature access point), so it's really hard to notice.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely take it back to the team. Glad to hear that it addressed your initial concern

Why is this a cookie setting instead of an account setting? That makes no sense.

A cookie works for logged out users, while an account setting won't Smilie

Is there way to make the pop-up smaller, more discreet and have on a short timer that it goes way -- more like "Deal is expired, but you can still post.. click here to continue" or this pop up will close in 5..4..3..2..1 seconds???

Hello,

When you see a deal post that expired it shows a pop up "Sorry, this deal has expired. Add a Deal Alert for..." Is there a way to turn off this popup? I sometime check old thread to see info or comments, but it is annoying to see this popup every time I check an old post. The thread shows it is expired on top already, which is enough.

Thank you.

Thank you for the reply, but I don't see a gear sign either.

Thanks, I let the devs know that the gear is missing and someone will look into it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
