Read the reviews for the DP adapters, the last one is positively awful, the other works OK as a single link adapter (although it's a rare situation where you need a single link adapter to run HD resolution or below - a passive adapter is usually all you need) but is not really dual link - apparently it will work with certain monitors that support higher resolution over a single link. I have one of these and it did not work with my Dell 3007 or Apple 30" Cinema display.

No, USB 3.0 doesn't have nearly enough bandwidth for that.

Blah... just spent probably $14 for a 25ft HDMI to DVI cable adapter from eBay. I guess it's still an okay price, but something like this probably would have done the job too

Need an adapter for when I upgrade my GFX card, because I think the ones I want only have 1x dvi, 1x hdmi, and maybe several 1.2 or whatever display port

All the DVI monoprice monitors support the adapter.

I assume these must be old models, then. I can't imagine why anyone would sell a new monitor without at least one DP input.

Yup. I have three very old monitors. They only have dvi dual link inputs that require dual link speeds. These work with my monitors.

The USB to 3.0 adapter may be worth getting, as it comes with all these:
1x USB 3.0 to DVI adapter
1x DVI to HDMI adapter
1x DVI to VGA adapter
1x USB 3.0 A male to micro B male cable

usb3 to dp is out of stock. I don't think these can work as intended as even USB 3.1 is limited to 10 Gbps *(assuming full saturation) and 4k is in need of 18 Gbps or more. I'm sure it is fine though for 1080p maybe 1440p.

That one is a really good deal if it's DisplayLink standard. I can't seem to find what standard this uses.
