All accounts require direct deposit. You should add that to title.

here are the full details

Earn Popular Community Bank $500 Bonus:

Open a qualifying checking account with a $25 minimum opening deposit from Popular Community Bank either in branch or online by October 31, 2017.

To receive the $200 bonus you must open the account and set up direct deposit within 60 days of account opening.

To receive the $300 bonus you must open a qualifying account as well as deposit at least $10,000 and maintain the money for 60 days.

Once the qualifications are met, you will receive the bonus/bonuses within 90 days.

How To Avoid Monthly Fees:
Popular Prestige Checking: Avoid the $12 fee by maintaining a $2,000 in average monthly checking balance OR a combined average monthly deposit balance of $5,000 between this product and certain other deposit products.
Popular Everyday Checking: Avoid the $10 fee by maintaining a $1,000 in average monthly checking balance OR by setting regular monthly direct deposit of a minimum aggregate amount of $750.

Don't understand why anyone would sign up for the Popular prestige Checking account. The requirements are higher than the everyday checking

Seems like a great deal. Why not getting any interest?

"Bonuses are limited to one per customer, per lifetime"

Well that sucks, I got the $150 offer three years ago but have since closed my account.

Banco Popular went bankrupt this month. I think Santander is taking them over? Does this affect the safety of deposits?

Popular still has FDIC. How much are you really planning to keep there anyway..? Shouldn't be an issue.

Ok just curious how fdic insurance works. How long does it take to get money back if fdic takes over?

FDIC is extreme last resort. Majority of the time another financial institution will take over first. I wouldn't worry.
