Did anyone order the 23andme DNA+Health kit on Prime Day ($99)?

I received my Amazon order for DNA+ Health kit. The $99 price for Prime Day was great (half price- lightning deal). I received only the DNA test kit (health not included). If you received the correct box it will say Health + Ancestry in the top right-hand corner (red). If you received one that only says ancestry (green), then you, like me, received the wrong item. 23 and me will run only the DNA portion of the test. $99 dollars for DNA only is hardly a slickdeal. The item was sold by Woot (owned by Amazon) through Amazon. Amazon will not exchange and you will have to return the item for credit. I was very disappointed by this error. Just wanted to pass this info along so that you do not spend a hundred dollars and not get what was expected and promised. I did not know where to post this.

I got the deal, and I received the Health & Ancestry kit. So I wouldn't necessarily say they're not honoring the deal. Hopefully the OP's was a rare mistake rather than the norm. I guess we will see if others post. For what it's worth, they HAVE the Health information for everyone, including the Ancestry only people -- they just don't display it to them. So even if you discovered you'd been given the wrong kit well AFTER it was done processing, you could probably just show them the evidence, and they'd unlock your Health reports almost instantly.

I have two orders from two separate days, both from woot. One was correct, the other wasn't. Working with amazon now.

Edit: Amazon refunded half the price of one order so instead of $99 it was $49.

By not honoring the deal, I meant they are not honoring the deal made with me. Since Amazon owns Woot I thought they could exchange the product. They refused and would only offer me a refund. This is a very rare deal, and I wanted the product. I do not know if I want to take a chance and send this box in and try to prove I bought the correct item. From experience, I have learned that that could take hours and still wind up losing my money. I sent a letter to Woot, but mistakes in the past have only resulted in refunds and never an exchange. I believe I just saw a response on another thread that someone else did not receive the Health+ancestry box. This mistake may prove to be hit or miss with any number of buyers. I only bought this product for the health portion. My family has had the ancestry portion done with Ancestry (and we all correctly linked). I will probably return the product, unless Woot allows for an exchange (I have bought from both Woot and Amazon for many years), but I doubt it. I really would hate to see someone else lose a hundred dollars because they also were sent the wrong item.

Order was cancelled by Amazon today for stock reasons. But They are still selling it at full price again.

Same as above for me. They cancelled my whole order saying it was out of stock but are selling it at full price. They offered to reimburse me any shipping costs if I purchased it again which was absurd since I have already paid Amazon for free shipping.

Shit like that REALLY pisses me off. Deliberate deception.

I wonder about the legality honestly. At first I think it's not illegal because they are refunding your order and you're not actually out any money. It's a scumbag move for sure. Like buying a new car, signing all the paperwork, handing over the check, then the dealership canceling everything and saying you can pay more if you still want the car. SAME DANG THING. Imagine if you were awaiting delivery of a car you just bought and the dealership pulled that crap!?!

But I do know there's quite a bit of laws that protect against shady business practices. Bait and switch, price gouging, etc etc. Canceling a contract for purchase under the pretense of "out of stock" and then magically having stock to sell at a higher price point....ehhhh.... given the right lawyer and judge I'd say that could absolutely end in a settlement.

I also ordered two 23andMe kits on the lightening deal. Instead of applying a 50% discount code, it also applied an additional discount code. The cost of two kits was about $1.20 total. I also purchased an unrelated item. Today, they cancelled the 23andMe portion of the order. This seems like a giant scam. I already had a Prime account, but presumably a lot of people joined for deals such as this. Also, I wouldn't have ordered the unrelated item, except that I was already purchasing the 23andMe kits. Seems fraudulent to me. If they were actually unable to complete the order, they could have avoided letting me put it in my cart to begin with. Also, I'd be happy to just wait a few months if there was really a supply issue, which there is not. To the extent that Prime Day influenced their stock prices, I think this is a very serious issue.

I ordered several of the 23 and Me health/ancestory kits on Prime Day. I've been a Prime member since 2005. That doesn't matter though, as Amazon cancelled all 3 kits. I was on the phone with Amazon for over an hour, they agreed everything I said was reasonable in terms of honoring the deal, but as of now I made no headway and they said they cannot honor the sale (via Amazon owned Woot) or price match a new one. However, they said I can buy it for the regular price of $199, in stock now by 23 and Me and shipped by Amazon. By my understanding, this is a Bait and Switch and is illegal under our state code, Chapter 93A (MA).
