Not sure about the Miter saw+stand being slick (it's been ~$480 with an extra 9Ah battery in the past).. but $220 for the brushless Impact + Hammerdrill + hackzall and two batteries/charger is a pretty dang good deal.

I am starting to get very confused by all of the m18 tools on here. Can someone break down the meaningful distinctions between this set and the "fuel" set of the same tools?

Just a note for the confused. These are NOT the FUEL versions even though they are brushless.

NM, just did a little of my own research. The "brushless" motor in the hammer drill provides 500inlbs of torque the "powerstate brushless" motor in the fuel series hammer drill provides 1200inlbs of torque.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there are three "levels" of m18 tools. Normal motor, brushless motor, and the powerstate brushless motors (FUEL).

Yep that pretty much sums up M18. M12 only has 2 lines.

I had picked up the M12 impact driver last month and am loving it; I can only imagine how powerful the M18 hammerdrill must be.
