Considering these don't see sale prices, it's always good to get a discount.

I watch several videos about walmart brand vs these. About the same give or take but walmart brand is like 1/4 cheaper.

No it's not. The Walmart Ozark Trail branded cooler you're talking about is the 26qt which sells for $96. So about 1/2 off but certainly not the 1/4 off you're talking about. You definitely get more size for the money however if you compare the feel, quality of latches, and overall build quality there is no question the Yeti is better. For my money I'd rather spend a bit more and get the Yeti. To each their own and you have to decide if you want to spend twice the price for the Yeti. If you really wanted to stay within a budget I'd recommend RTIC, their 20qt is only $130 and high quality as well.

I don't have a Yeti but instead went with an Orca 20qt in Seafoam green for $160 shipped. Quality craftsmanship, outperforms the Yeti, Made in USA, and lifetime warranty. Now if you want to compare an Orca vs Ozark Trail I'll spend the extra $60 for the Orca all day any day.

Looking at my 30 year old Coleman 24 right now, I think I'd buy a cheaper cooler and better beer. Smilie

Save another $25+ if you buy these gift cards from Cabelas on Ebay. Assuming promo for Yeti lasts a week.

$100 for $82 and FS

I personally think that Rtic brand coolers are right up there with Yeti and are much cheaper.

rticcoolers.com

I have several and they are great. If I was going to spend more it would be on an orca or pelican, not yeti.

If only these other brands were available in store. It's hard to drop that kind of money on a cooler that you have to order sight unseen.

RTICs are all out of stock until the fall I was told. I guess that is pending the redesigns coming out. I hope the quality/price ratio stays the same.

This is about as true as saying that a Hyundai is as good as a Mercedes because both will get you from A to B.

Look, YETI is for a very specific purpose. If you're not going to need to keep something ice cold for days on end, it's pointless to spend the money on it. That said, every legit comparison I've ever seen puts the YETI on top. Maybe not by a lot over it's real competitors like RTIC or Orca, but reliably on top. And the Walmart garbage is nowhere close.
