I remember being so disappointed when I read this. It seems like everyone else in the world loves it except for me. Frown

This appears to be just the first book in the series.

It really is its own style of snarky humor. I read them (the first 4 books) when I was about 13-14, well before the movie release, and I was absolutely in love with the series. I later read the 5th book which was pretty meh.

Also, for the Douglas Adams fans, BBC made a TV series on one of his other book series, "Dirk Gently's Hollistic Detective Agency".

I can't stand stories with no closure. So I, also, dislike these books.

My tip: listen to the BBC radio versions. It is the way to enjoy them as that is how they were designed and created. It is the epitome of fun and funny. The books are enjoyable, but they are really just post-scriptum adaptations of the radio shows. On a personal grade, even though I am a huge Adams fan, able to quote them left and right, the books would get an 8/10, and the radio programs 9.5-10 (the very last ones were not as strong, but the first that make up the initial three books are genius).

How would I move a Google Play version of the book onto my kindle?

Have a bunch of Google credit, but I'd rather not read on a phone or monitor, if possible.

If this was for the "complete" edition (the whole series) I would jump all over it. As it is, I can't bring myself to re-buy a book I already own. Great price on this for anyone who hasn't read it or just really wants an e-version, though!

Additionally, the BBC televised version. Whole thing used to be on Youtube but the BBC finally issued a takedown notice for most of the six parts. Leaps and bounds better than the mid 00's remake and includes a lot more of the series.
