MicroCenter [microcenter.com] has 34" Acer Predator X34 3440x1440 Curved UltraWide QHD IPS LED Monitor for $999. Put in basket to see price.

$100 off with .edu email! Thanks to 1980s_SpaceGuy for posting this link: http://www.microcenter.com/site/c..._2017.aspx

TFTCentral Review here: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/revie...or_x34.htm

As far as I can tell, this is the cheapest price it has ever been, with the exception of a similar price at Costco some month back, but MicroCenter does not require a membership. It allows for shipping ($17 for standard shipping for me, but this might vary) - so unlike a lot of MicroCenter deals, this is available across the country and not YMMV (as far as I can tell.)

Specs

Resolution: 3440x1440
Response Time: 4ms
Refresh Rate: 60Hz, over clockable to 100HZ
G-Sync support
Contrast Ratio: 100,000,000:1

Z35P is about the only competition in the price range. Then it comes down to VA Panel vs IPS. 120hz vs 100hz. Personally I think at the moment I would go with the Z35P as it's an inch bigger and has 20hz more.

Yeah I'm waiting on it. Little scared of the pricing though. I dont think I can stomach 2k for a monitor. Hoping for around 1500 to 1600.

I would be careful with a newly released display like the z35p. knowing what i know about the acer an asus and dell i would give them a few more months to iron out all issues unless you can exchange it fairly quickly. you'd be surprised how many issues these expensive displays have at first.

I too got a refurb from Woot for about $700. LOVE IT! Would consider upgrading to X35 when it comes out, but I think the price will be $1500 or more....

I upgraded from the Dell U3415W which has the IPS panel to the Z35P which uses the VA. I can't stand the color shift of the VA and the color accuracy, plus it's only 8-bit vs the 10-bit IPS. The 120hz helps and the blacks are better, but in the end I'm going to return it and get this deal.

What is microcenter's return policy? Will I be able to exchange the monitor if it has terrible BLB or dead pixels?

I'd wait for the X34p, which has been delayed till Q4 2017 or so, or the X35.

That's why I'm waiting to hear the pricing on the X35 and the PG35VQ after I find out they will be the extremely low and fair price of 1999.99 I will grab a Z35P or X34. These display prices have gotten out of hand.

yeah if the Z35 is less than $2k i will preorder one as soon as available. laugh out loud at 200 hz, hdr 1440p, curved no way it will be less But on the bright side Im sure both Acer and Asus will f** them up and plague them with issues at launch then patch them up and sell a bunch of refurbs a few months later u watch laugh out loud . And when that happens i will be sure to snag one for less than $1k from Woot or something , just like i did with the X34 which is perfection now.

With the announcement and release of the Z35P and the announcement of the X35, I wouldn't get my hopes up that the X34p ever gets released. Which is unfortunate as I would love a faster refresh IPS.

Have an X34. Couldn't stomach a VA panel. It's definitely a preference thing.
